Recruitment of Sub-Inspector (Executive) Male & Sub-Inspector (Executive) Female in Delhi Police 2009 (Phase II)

Applications are invited from Indian nationals to fill up 380 vacancies of Sub-Inspector (Executive)-Male and 82 vacancies of Sub-Inspector (Executive) - Woman in Delhi Police in the pay scale of PB-2 Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs. 4200/- and other allowances as admissible. Recruitment will be held at Delhi for which candidates from all parts of the country fulfilling the following conditions are eligible to apply:-

Educational Qualification:

Should have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university at the time of filling up of application form.


20 to 25 years as on 01.07.2009 (Relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ST-05 years, OBC-03 years, Sportsman/woman-05 years, and age relaxation to Departmental/Ex-servicemen and Widow/divorced women/judicially separated women who are not re-married, as per rules.

Physical measurement standards

1. Male Candidates

Height: Minimum 170 cms. Relaxable by 5 cms for residents of hill areas,

Chest: Minimum 81 cms. 85 cms after expansion. Relaxable by 5 cms for residents of hill areas.

2. Female Candidates

Height: Minimum 157 cms. Relaxable by 5 cms for residents of hill areas and SC/ST candidates


Application forms can be obtained in any one of the following ways.


(a) Application forms printed in the Employment News dated 05.12.2009.

(b) Typed/photocopied application forms on A/4 size paper, strictly as per format published in the Employment News.

(c) Application forms are available on the website of Delhi Police which can be downloaded.

Application forms sent in any other format shall be rejected.

The application forms should be sent through ordinary post at Post Box No. 8020, Delhi110033. The application fee would be Rs. 100/- (in the form of demand/bank draft/banker's cheque). The application fee for SC/ST and ex-serviceman candidates is exempted, however they will have to attach photocopy of caste certificates/discharge book alongwith the application form, duly attested by a serving Gazetted Officer.

For details, the applicants are requested to go through the websites of Delhi Police or advertisement appearing in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar on 05.12.2009. It contains category-wise number of vacancies, eligibility conditions, procedure of filling the form & mode of sending the same, terms & conditions for the posts as well as information regarding various tests i.e. physical endurance & measurement and written tests etc. Applicants should understand all the information and instructions carefully before applying for the post.
