Dear Sachin,
Formative Assessment is to evaluate and grade class work, homework, assignment and project work.
1) There will be two evaluations each in the first and second terms
2) Each evaluation will carry 10 marks a piece.

Summative Assessment is based on the term-end examination.
1) There will be one term-end exam for each term
2) The first term-end exam will carry 20 marks
3) The second term-end exam will carry 40 marks

A students shall obtain at least 25% marks in the SA (both SA-1 and SA-2 taken together) to become eligible for qualifying the examination, i.e. at least 15 marks out of 60 marks and total 33% in each of the five subjects of scholastic area.

For a student participating in sports at the National/International level (organised by recognised federations/CBSE/SGFI) which is being held during the month of the conduct of the Summative Assessments , an exemption may be granted to him/her from appearing in any one of the SA provided a prior granted approval by the Board is taken by the same. In this case, the marks obtained in one SA shall also be introduced for the SA-2 by the Board.
The School shall fill-in the relevant field with ZERO (0) marks and the remark given against such student, must be supported with necessary documents in the hard copy.
