Ragging in NIT-Durgapur – 20 students suspended

Durgapur (West Bengal): (PTI) Twenty students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur were today suspended for two months for allegedly ragging first year students.

Eighteen students of second year and two students of third year have been suspended till October 30 and they have been told to vacate the hostel, Dean of Administration of NIT Durgapur, A K Mishra, said.

Some first year students have lodged a complaint against these 20 students for ragging them.

The Anti-Ragging Committee of the Institute met and took the decision to suspend the 20 students for two months, Mishra said.
