Full scholarships by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A 'STAR) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) for outstanding students from India to pursue studies in Singapore, leading to the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Advanced) Level or equivalent. Studies in Singapore at selected Secondary Schools and Junior Colleges will commence in 2010 for successful candidates.

Important dates: 1 June 2009 (10am Singapore Time / 7.30am India Time) to 15 July 2009 (10pm Singapore Time / 7 30pm India Time)

Application Period -- 4 June to 15 July Selection Test End -- August to early September

Selection Interview Early -- November

Award of Scholarship -- Mid to late November

Arrival of Scholar in Singapore -- 26 December 2009

Eligibility: Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the scholarship:

1. Nationals of India

2. Born between 1992 and 1994

3. Completed Standard 8 in the Year 2008

4. Possess outstanding academic track record (at least an average of 80% with English as first language in the Standard 8 school examinations

5. Possess a high level of oral and written competency in English

Value of Award:

* Exemption from school & examination fees (excluding miscellaneous fees)

* Hostel accommodation provided

* 1 return economy-class air passage at the start & end of scholarship term

* Annual allowance of S$2,200 (Secondary Level) & SS2.400 (Pre-University Level)

* Settling-in allowance (once only) of S$400 (Secondary Level) & S$500 (Pre-University Level)

* Subsidised medical benefits

* There is no bond attached to both scholarships
