Ahmadabad: A group of students from a city-based business school have come up with an innovative idea of launching a portal to woo potential recruiters.

Talking on the concept, associate dean, Icfai Business School, Ahmedabad, Vivek Ranga says, "Globally the economy is in poor mood and that has greatly impacted the recruitment scenario at most of the business schools. Recruiters are cutting the cost in terms of traveling and visiting the institutes to hire fresh graduates so we came up with this dedicated portal to maximize our efforts. It is to invite and encourage recruiters to short list the candidates through online process."

More than 270 management students will sit for the final placements. One of the student Astha Goel says, "Recruiters are now preferring to take interviews through webcam and other online mediums. It is also beneficial for us as we get a lot of opportunities to interact with recruiters as number of companies coming to the campus have gone down."
