Admission in BCA(Revised) open for July 2011 Session

BCA (Revised) Programme Objective:

The basic objective of the programme is to open a channel of admission for computing courses for students, who have done the 10+2 and are interested in taking computing/IT as a career. After acquiring the Bachelor’s Degree (BCA) at IGNOU, there is further educational opportunity to go for an MCA at IGNOU or Master’s Programme at any other University/Institute. Also after completing BCA Programme, a student should be able to get entry level job in the field of Information Technology or ITES.

Programme Fee: Rs.4500/ per semester

Admission Eligibility Criteria: 10+2 or its equivalent

Duration of the Programme: Minimum - 3 Years and Maximum - 6 Years.

To fulfill the requirements for acquiring the BCA degree, a student may successfully complete all the courses in three years. If a student fails to successfully complete all the requirement of courses in three years s/he may be permitted to stretch it over a period of maximum another 3 years. In case a student is unable to successfully complete all the courses of the BCA Programme in 6 years, s/he may have to take re-admission to the courses, which s/he has not successfully completed. In such cases, the student has to seek readmission as per the “Re-admission” rules of the IGNOU, and pay the requisite fee.

Student Attendance:

For theory counseling session there is no compulsion of attendance. However in counselling sessions of Lab courses, 70% attendance is compulsory.

In respect of counselling of the practical sessions, it is to mention that the student must undertake practical sessions during the semester in the first time of registration of that student. Allowing a student, practical sessions in subsequent years/semesters is at the discretion of the University and subject to payment of the fees for the same.
