National Academy of Agricultural Research Management

The National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) was established in 1976, at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, to fulfill the important need for an institution of management in agricultural research and education. NAARM is one of the constituent institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, the apex body of the country for promoting agricultural research, education and extension education.

All India Competitive Examination for grant of ICAR-SRF (PGS) leading to a Ph.D. degree in Agriculture and Allied Science subjects in the Academic Session 2009-10

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the grant of ICAR-Senior Research Fellowship (PGS) for pursuing Ph.D. degree in the field of Agriculture and allied Sciences for 2009-10. The award of ICAR-SRF (PGS) is for three years.

Important Dates: Last date for submission of applications: 30.09.2009

Written Test GD & Interview: 20.12.2009 (Sunday)

Eligibility: The candidates should have Master's Degree in the concerned discipline, with 55% marks or its equivalent OGPA for General and OBC categories; 50% marks or its equivalent OGPA for SC, ST, and PH categories, from any recognized university in India and abroad.

The candidates appearing in the final semester would also be eligible provided they produce the degree completion certificate from the Registrar to this effect by the date of Examination.

The candidates must not have attained the age of 30 years for General, 33 years for OBC, 35 years for SC, ST and PH categories and 45 years for in-service candidates (regular employees) of ICAR, SAUs and other organisations dealing with agricultural sector.

The crucial date for determining the age limit for all categories will be the date of examination.

Examination Pattern: The examination consists of 2 papers in objective type having multiple-choice OMR based questions. Paper-I will be in general knowledge including general awareness in Agriculture. Paper-ll will be in 13 major subject groups. The details of the major subject group and sub-subjects and other details are given in the Information Bulletin. The examination will be conducted on 20.12.2009 (Sunday).

How To Apply:

The Information Bulletins with Application Forms will be available for sale between 20.08.2009 and 30.09.2009 and The candidates can download application form from the web, fill it up and send it along with the demand draft of Rs. 1000/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PH candidates. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of ‘ICAR Unit NAARM Account’, payable at Hyderabad and on the backside of the DD, name and address of the candidate must be written.

The last date for the receipt of filled in applications at the office of the Controller of Examination, National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500407: 30.09.2009.

The last date for the candidates from remote areas viz., Assam, Meghalaya, Arunanchal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Laddakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul and Spiti districts and Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep: 07.10.2009

Applications received after the last date will be rejected. The Academy shall not be held responsible for non-receipt of applications within the time schedule due to postal delay or any other reason for delay. For all disputes relating to the conduct of this examination or any matter connected with this advertisement, the decision of the Director, NAARM, will be final.
