National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute(NABI), Mohali

The Deptt. of Biotechnology, Govt. of India is establishing NABI along with food Bio Processing Unit and a Biotechnology Park in the "Knowledge City", Sector 81, Mohali, Punjab. NABI will be an apical R&D center that encompasses three sub institutions in the area of Agriculture Biotechnology with focus on plant genomic science based designer crop breeding programme; Food Science & Technology and Nutrition Sciences, NABI will be a centre of excellence in basic and translation science.

Applications are invited from India citizens including those staying aboard and Non-Resident India (NRIs), who should be an outstanding scientist with proven scientific record in the area of plant molecular biology/Food Science&Technology and Nutrition Sciences/Biochemical or Bioprocess Engineering and excellent leadership and managerial qualities, for the post(s) of Dean.
1. Agriculture Biotechnology (1 post)

3. Nutrition Sciences (1 post)
Responsibilities of DEAN(s) would be to provide academic and scientiffic leadership in their respective groups and create world class infrastructure; to attract outstanding talent; to promote connectivity with other institution, both globally and nationally.
Professional Requirements:
i) Essential:a) Post Graduate Degree in relevent displine
b) Doctorate Degree or equivalent in Plant Molecular Biology/Food Science&Techniology/Nutritional Science/ Biochemical or Bioprocess Engineering or other related field
c)Outstanding scientific and academic credentials
d) Minimum of 10 years exprience in a responsible position of work in any R&D/Planning/Acadmic/ Scientific Institution/Organisation/Department/Industry.
ii) Desirable:
a) Three years' experience as the Head of any R&D/Planning/Acadmic/Scientific Institution/Organisation/Department or group innovation experience and capability.
Age Limit:
The applicant should not be above 55 years of age but age relaxation may be allowed for exceptional candidates.
The appointment will be on a contract basis for a period of 5 years, which will be extendable for a further term subject to a maximum age limit of 60 years after internal and external review at the end of 4 years.
Salary&Allowances:
Basic Scale Rs. 37,400-525-67,000 (revised) plus grade salary. Allowances and other perks will be as per approved norms of the Govt. of India
