Applications in the prescribed format are invited for the following posts at National Institute of Siddha on Direct Recruitment Basis.
Candidates who have already sent their applications in response to the Employment Notification dated 30.12.2008 published in the Print Media on 16.01.2009 in The Hindu, Daily Thanthi and Employment News, except for the post of Lecturers in the disciplines of Sirappu Maruthuvam, Kuzhandhai Maruthuvam, Nanju Noolum Maruthuva Needhi Noolum & Lower Division Clerk (LDC), NEED NOT APPLY AGAIN.

1. Professor -2 Nos: NoiNaadal-1 Post (OBC-1) Gunapadam- 1 Post (SC. 1)
a. Scale of Pay: Rs.37400.67000+NPA, with Grade Pay Rs.8,700/-
b. Educational Qualification:
i. PG qualifications in Siddha in the concerned subject recognized by CCIM.
ii. 7 yrs as Reader (Associate Professor) in PG teaching in the concerned subject or 12 yrs combined experience in PG teaching in the subject concerned (as Reader/Associate Professor/Asst. Professor) and Research & Admn.
iii. Desirable: a. Ph.D. in Siddha b. Extensive experience in Research/Administration c. Working knowledge in Tamil & English
c. Maximum Age Limit: 55 Years
2. Associate Professor - 7 Posts: Maruthuvam -1 Post (UR-1), Gunapadam-1 Post(OBC-I1, Sirappu Maruthuvam-1 Post (UR-1), Kuzhandhai Maruthuvam - 1 Post (UR-1), Noi Naadal-2 Posts (UR-1. SC-1), Naju Noolum Maruthuvam Needhi Noolum-1 Post (OBC-1)
a. Scale of Pay: 15600,39100 (PB3) with Grade Pay Rs.76001- + NPA
b. Educational Qualification:
i. PG qualification in Siddha in the concerned subject recognized by CCIM.
ii. 5 yrs as Asst. Professor in PG teaching in the subject or 10 yrs combined experience in PG teaching in the subject (as Asst. Professor/ Lecturer) and Research I Administration.
iii. Desirable: a. Extensive experience in Research/Administration b. Working knowledge in Tamil & English
c. Maximum Age Limit: 50 Years
3. Lecturer - 6 Posts a. Maruthuvam-1 Post (OBC-1), b. Gunapadam-1 Post (SC-1), c. Sirappu Marthuvam-1 Post (ST-1), d. Kuzhandai Maruthuvam -1 Post (OBC- 1), e. Noi Naadal - 1 Post (SC-1), f. Nanju Noolum Maruthuva Needhi Noolum -1 Post (UR-1)
i. Scale of Pay: 15600.39100 (PB-3) with Grade Pay Rs.5400+ NPA
ii. Educational Qualification:
a. PG Degree in Siddha of a recognized University with specialization in the concerned subject and recognized by CCIM
iii. Maximum Age Limit: 40 Years
4. Office Superintendent -1 Post (UR-1)
a. Scale of Pay : 9300-34800 (PB-2) with Grade Pay Rs.4200.
b. Educational Qualification: i. A degree from a recognized University ii. At least 7yrs administrative experience
c. Maximum Age Limit: 50 Years
5. Pharmacist – Posts - 2 (UR-2)
a. Scale of Pay: 5200-20200 (PB-1) with Grade Pay Rs.28001-
b. Educational Qualification:
i. HSC from a recognized State Board of Education with Science & English.
ii. Recognized Certificate in Siddha Pharmacy/Dispensing Course, the duration of which should not be less than 2 yrs c. Maximum Age Limit; 30 Years
6. Lab Assistant -1, for PH (Hearing Impaired)
a. Scale of Pay -5200-20200 (PB-1) with Grade Pay Rs.19001-
b. Educational Qualification
i. HSC from a recognized State Board of Education preferably with Vocational Course or Diploma in Laboratory Technology OR ii. Degree in Science with Biology/Physics/Chemistry and English.
c. Maximum Age Limit: 28 Years
7. LDC-1 Post (UR-1)
a. Scale of Pay - 5200-20200 (PB-1) With Grade Pay Rs.1 9001-
b. Educational Qualification
i. Higher Secondary from a recognized State Board of Education, ii. Typing speed prescribed as per DOPT norms
c. Maximum Age Limit: 28 Years
8. Dark Room Assistant (0T) - 1 Post (UR- 1)
a. Scale of Pay -5200-20200 (PB-1) with Grade Pay Rs.19001-
b. Educational Qualification
i. Certificate of having successfully completed the training course, for Dark Room Asst. provided that preference shall be given to candidates who have passed the CRA examination.
c. Maximum Age Limit: 28 Years
General Instructions:
1. Candidates must not have attained the maximum age prescribed against each post on 01.01.2010 and the upper age limit prescribed shall be relaxed by three years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SCIST candidates against posts reserved for them. Upper age limit prescribed is relaxable by 5 years for all women candidates. However, the upper age limit prescribed shall not be applicable to persons in the services of National Institute of Siddha.
2. Detailed instructions are contained in the prescribed application form. Candidates desirous of applying for the above posts may submit their request during working days for application form along with cost of application of Rs.1001- by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, National Institute of Siddha, Chennai 600 047 The filled in application form along with relevant certificates in proof of age, educational qualifications and experience should reach the Director, National Institute of Siddha on or before 20.03.2010. Candidates applying for more than one post shall submit separate applications.
3. The National Institute of Siddha reserves the right to hold the Screening test to limit the number of applicants in case large number of applications are received for any or all the posts based on Exam etc.
4. SCIST candidates are exempted from fee. They are required to produce the attested photo copy of the community certificate in prescribed format along with their request for application form.
5. Applications of candidates working in Government Departments (Autonomous bodies I Public Sector under takings shall be forwarded through Proper channel only.
6. The National Institute of Siddha reserves the right not to fill any or all the posts without assigning any reason. The number of vacancies shown is only tentative and not conclusive.
7. Mere possession of the education qualification and requisite experience will not entail any right to call for interview or selection.
8. Filling up of any or all the posts will be at the discretion of competent authority of National Institute of Siddha and no interim correspondence will be allowed in this regard. Canvassing in any form will be viewed seriously and such application shall be summarily rejected treating the same as disqualified.
9. Applications can also be downloaded from the website of National Institute of Siddha (www.nischennai.org) and submit the filled in application on or before 20.03.2010, with attested photocopies relevant certificates in proof of age, educational qualification, and experience along with fee of Rs.1001- by way of Demand Draft (except SCIST) drawn in favour of Director, National Institute of Siddha,Chennai -600 047.
