Schemes for Scholarships to Young Artists in Different Cultural Fields 2009

SCHEME FOR AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO YOUNG ARTISTES IN DIFFERENT CULTURAL FIELDS

Ministry of Culture operates the Scheme for Award of Scholarships to Young Artistes in Different Cultural Fields to support advanced training, within India, to young artistes of outstanding promise in the fields of Indian Classical Music, Indian Classical Dances, Light Classical Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, Mime, Folk, Traditional and Indigenous Arts.

Under this Scheme, 400 Scholarships are awarded every year to young artistes in the age group of 18 to 25 years (as on 1st April of the relevant year) who have undergone a minimum of 5 years of training with their Guru/Institute.


Online applications are invited from eligible young artistes for award of Scholarships for the year 2009.

31st October, 2009 is the last date for receipt of applications Only online applications will be accepted

How to apply:
1.       A copy of the online application form, with candidate’s photo and signature at the specified space. 
2.      An attested copy of birth-certificate (School leaving certificate) etc.
3.       Certificate from the present Guru / Institute in the format given at Part ‘C’.
4.      Bank account details of the applicant, duly attested by the Branch Manager of the Bank,
5.       In case of Visual Arts, Six photographs (Post-card size) of your recent works should be submitted.
6.       Candidates applying in the field of Visual Arts in all the sub fields except Sculpture should have minimum qualification of Bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent. An attested copy of the Degree of BFA or equivalent is to be submitted. In Sculpture no minimum qualification is prescribed.
7.       Original Certificate/testimonials are to be produced at the time of interview.
