Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Deoghar is situated at Deoghar in the state of Jharkhand in India. The Government of Jharkhand requested the Birla Institute of Technology to establish an Extension Centre at Deoghar was established on the 2nd of October 2007. This is the 8th of the Birla Institute of Technology Campuses within India. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute and the Government of Jharkhand. As per the provisions of this MoU, 50% of the seats would be filled by students acquiring eligible qualifications from Institutions located in Jharkhand while the remaining 50% would be students from the other states of the country. Subsequently, the Government of Jharkhand allotted 25 acres (100,000 m2) of land located in the villages of Ramchandarpur and Ratanpur at Jasidih, near Deoghar, and agreed to release the requisite funds for establishing the Centre. The academic activities of the Centre commenced in October 2007.

Programmes Offered:

BIT Deoghar is offering undergraduate programs in different streams of engineering. 270 students would be admitted every year to the B.E. programme of the Institute at its Deoghar Extension Centre in the disciplines of:

BE (Bachelor of Engineering)

     ●  Electrical & Electronics Engineering
     ●  Mechanical Engineering
     ●  Production Engineering
