1. IMI seeks to further its recognition and reputation among business leaders, the corporate community and the academicians through its contributions to industry and society which will lead to improved student recruitment and provide additional research opportunities for faculty.
2. IMI seeks to continously enchance its pedagogy to attain higher standards of quality education.
3. IMI seeks to attract, maintain and nurture an outstanding faculty. Since the faculty is critical to achieving the mission, they are encouraged and provided resources to develop important and relevant scientific research that advances both the understanding and the practice of management.
4. IMI seeks to provide an environment that promotes the professional development of students, faculty and staff.
THE BEGINNING -
IMI was set up in 1981 as an autonomous non-profit Educational Society under the Societies Registration Act 1860 in collaboration with International Management Institute, Geneva.
The objective was to meet a widely felt need for internationally oriented management education and training for managers at all levels in Industry, Government and Public Administration.
The Institute started functioning from leased premises in Kailash Colony. Its Post Graduate Diploma in International Management (PGPIM) was recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in the very first year of its launch.
From these small beginnings, it has grown to be a premier institute and now occupies its own premises in Qutab Institutional Area, a major learning center in the capital.
IMI follows international standard curricula in it's programmes and has taken full advantage of its academic collaborations with International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne and Manchester Business School (MBS), UK.
