PSG Institute of Management (PSG College of Technology) is situated at the second-largest city Coimbatore in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The genesis of the Institute can be traced to the establishment of the Department of Management Sciences in the year 1966 at the PSG College of Technology. A department of Management Sciences was created and a 3 year part-time Post Graduate Diploma course in Business and Industrial Management was introduced in 1966. A full-time two-year MBA programme with approval of the Government of India was introduced in 1971, with affiliation to the University of Madras, the first of such a programme in South India. The department was upgraded and was named PSG Institute of management, as part of the PSG College of Technology, in the year 1995.
Faculty:
PSG IM has 40 permanent faculty of which 13 are Ph.D.'s and 15 have more than 5 years of Industry experience. In addition 28 visiting faculty and 30 adjunct faculty provide academic input to our students.
Programme:
Learning is a never-ending process. A degree is only a formal initiation into this ocean of transformation from ignorance to knowledge. At PSG IM, the degree programmes are viewed as only the beginning of the learning process. For it is during these couple of years, that an aspirant knows what to learn. In the years that follow, knowledge will oscillate between learning and unlearning.

Learning Resource Centre:
The Learning Resource Centre at the PSG IM spreads over 7500 sq. ft of well constructed space. Over 30,000 books on all the possible areas of management and associated studies find their way to the bookshelves at the PSG IM library. The centre subscribes to over 300 journals. 10 newspapers, including the London Financial Times are available all the year round to facilitate state-of-the-art learning experiences.

Corporate Relation Cell:
PSG IM, the classrooms only serve as the beginner's pad for learning. Most of the experiences and knowledge comes from the institute's unique learning methodology of industry-institute interface.
The Corporate Relations Cell at the PSG IM was started in order to bring to the students, the best of industry practices and interfaces through which they can improve their knowledge repository. The cell also coordinates placement procedures with leading corporate houses.
