Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University situated in the city of Hyderabad in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The University was established in January 1998 by an Act of the Parliament, with an All India Jurisdiction. The First Convocation of the University was held on August 5, 2005. Hon'ble President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam addressed the University Staff and Students on the occasion. Gold Medals were awarded in various faculties.
Facilities:
The University has recently been awarded "A" Grade by National Assessment & Accreditation Council(NAAC). MANUU has a Distance Education Directorate in which there are approximately 70,000 students doing various courses (M.A, B.ed, B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com, different diplomas and certificate courses) from various parts of the world. Its examination center is available at Jeddah(K.S.A) & few more are in pipeline at Qatar, U.K. and U.S.A. It has established a Computer Center as a part of UGC X plan. Translation department of the University aids in translating books of other languages in Urdu. The University has Nine Regional Centers, Five Sub-Regional Centers and 140 Study Centers in various states in India. The university campus has various departments.
