Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University is one and only one of its kinds in the State. It is autonomous University. The University located at Lonere in Raigad district, Maharashtra, India. It is established in the year 1989 under the 'Government of Maharashtra Act 1983', the University is affiliated to the University Grants Commission (India). Although relatively young, the University is making its mark in the field of research and technological services through its dedicated faculty and disciplined students.
The University campus covers an area of 25 acres (100,000 m2), and is located at the college town of Lonere, off NH-17 (Mumbai-Goa National Highway). It is approximately 25 km north of Mahad city and 10 km south of Mangaon tehsil, and about 22 ms away from the renowned Raigad fort of the Maratha king Shivaji.

Admission Eligibility:
The admission of the students to the first year of four-year full time degree courses at this University takes place through the entrance examination MHT-CET conducted by the Competent Authority duly appointed by the Government and headed by the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State. The Competent Authority fills the 85% seats of the University from the Maharashtra State candidates through the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP). These 85% seats of the University are filled only through one centralized round (CAP Round-I) of allotment carried out by the Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai. Seats remaining vacant after CAP round are filled at the University level itself from amongst candidates passing their qualifying examination from the districts of Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.

Admission Eligibility:
The candidates applying for M.Tech. Programs except Environmental Engineering should have passed B.E./B.Tech. degree examination in relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks. However, the candidates applying for Environmental Engineering should have passed B.E/B.Tech.degree examination with minimum 55% marks in any one of the disciplines of Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Petrochemical and Polymer & Plastic Engineering or M.Sc. degree examination having specialization in Chemistry, Botany, Geology, Zoology, Physics, Microbiology or Environmental Science. Seats are available for regular and sponsored categories.
