International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhubaneswar is in Gothapatna, Malipada, Bhubaneswar. It is the 10th Institute of its kind conceived by the Government of India and some State Governments, that was established in the city of Bhubaneswar in Orissa in 2007 with the view to be a forerunner in the arena of Information Technology sector. IIIT-Bhubaneswar will focus on quality and rigorous education, quality resource, academic infrastructure, technology and innovation. These initiatives will help IIIT-Bhubaneswar achieve pre-eminence in India and beyond.
The Institute's Foundation stone was laid by the then Honourable President Of India, APJ Abdul Kalam on 29 November, 2006 in the august presence of the Governor of Odisha Sri Rameshwar Thakur and The Chief Minister of Odisha Sri Naveen Patnaik. The campus was inaugurated by Shri Naveen Patnaik, on 9 October, 2009 in the presence of Shri Ramesh Chandra Majhi, Honourable Minister of State for IT, Science and Technology. IIT-Bhubaneswar will focus on quality and rigorous education, quality resource, academic infrastructure, technology and innovation. These initiatives will help IIIT-Bhubaneswar achieve pre-eminence in India and beyond.
The institute has a 24-acre (0.097 km2) campus at Gothapatna close to the new Infocity-II area in the city, where several IT companies are building new offices. It started operating in September 2007, with a small initial intake of 25 students.

Under Graduate and Dual Degree : Admissions are taken solely through OJEE since the 2009 batch
Post Graduation: Admissions to M.Tech programmes are conducted by IIIT Bhubaneswar itself.
