School of Planning & Architecture, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University is situated at Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh. The Institution initially founded in the year 1940 as Department of Architecture in the erstwhile Nizam college of Fine Arts and Architecture, become the Govt. College of Fine Arts and Architecture in 1956 following the formation of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Subsequent to the formation of JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University) in 1972, the college was merged into it. The college of Fine Arts and Architecture become one of the four constituent colleges of the University. In 1989, the college was bifurcated to form the School of Planning and Architecture and is since then a constituent Institution of the School of Excellence envisaged by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.

The School has highly qualified and experienced faculty specializing in Architecture, Housing, Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, Urban Design, Conservation, Structural Engineering. Through the rigor of their pursuits, breadth of interests, and commitments to teaching, the faculty develops students who actively engage and resourcefully address emerging design issues.

Many Architecture and Planning projects have been undertaken and supervised by the school under its consultancy services. The School of Planning and Architecture also offers postgraduate courses in Urban & Regional Planning, Environmental Design and Interior Design.

Courses Offered:

School of Planning and Architecture offers two graduate programs, three post graduate part-time P.G Diploma programs that have been designed to include inputs in various technical areas as well in areas relating to art and aesthetics.

1. B.Arch Program (Regular/Part-time)

Eligibility: Students sholud qualify in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture conducted by Council of Architecture(COA)) with 10+2 (Maths stream) with an aptitude of 50% or more and 10+3 in Architecture are eligible for admission into Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch)

2. B.Plan. Program

Eligibility: Intermediate (10+2 with maths, physics & chemistry as main subjects) or any other equivalent examination.

3. M.Arch Program (Interior Design)

Eligibility: Should have completed B.Arch from a recognized university as per council of Architecture norms.

4. M.U.R.P (Master of Urban & Regional Planning)

Eligibility: Should have completed B.Arch/ B.Tech (Civil)/Masters degree in Economics or Geography, from a recognized university.
